Ministries

Pointing children to their creator.

The Tintern Church of Christ seeks to become an authentic community of believers in Jesus Christ. Christians are on this earth, by God’s grace, to be the hands and feet of Christ and to serve wherever they are to the glory of God. We want to actively engage our community with the person and the teachings of Jesus and we seek to do that through the following ministries:

  • Gospel Chariot MissionsThe Missions Ministry allocates funds to missionaries that we support in Canada and around the world. Contact Jim Dickie for more information about supporting the Missions Ministry.
  • The Benevolence and Member Care Ministry also wants to follow in the example of Acts 2 and “give to anyone as they have need”. Benevolence and Member Care provides regular support for Community Care Niagara, manages a food pantry in our building and provides for needs both inside our church family and in the community at large. Contact Jim Book if you would like to serve in this ministry.
  • The Finance Ministry oversees the financial affairs of the congregation. Contact Jim Whitfield for more information about serving in this ministry.
  • The Facilities Ministry provides ongoing support to the custodial staff and assists with repairs and Maintenance. Contact Tim Tallman in you are interested in helping with this ministry.
  • The Education Ministry supports our Sunday morning and Wednesday night Youth Bible study program. We offer children’s programing all year for ages 0 – 20 and also run an annual Bible Day Camp in July and monthly Youth Activities for ages 4 – 13. Contact Jeremy Cook if you would like to be a part of this exciting ministry.
  • The Fellowship Ministry plans activities that support friendships and the sense of community among the believers in our church community. We want become a church family like the one described in Acts 2 that “were all together and had all things in common”. The Fellowship Ministry hosts potluck lunches each quarter as well as Celebration of Thanks, a Traditional Thanksgiving dinner for the whole congregation and a Celebration of the Season during the Christmas season. Let Russ Walker know if you would like to help.
  • The Outreach Ministry supports the entire congregation in becoming more effective at serving the needs of the community. This active ministry supports the Friendspeak program, an English training program that assists people in the community in learning to speak English more effectively and hosts Church in the Park an annual outdoor worship service at Balls Falls Conservation Area. Contact Dwayne Williams for more information about serving with the Outreach Ministry.
